Milk prices keep increasing which is considered to be a predictable trend for the economies with seasonal character of milk production.

This year the increase in milk prices started somewhat earlier, in late June, while traditionally it begins in August. But there some objective reasons, one of them is the reduction of milk production due to abnormal heat which attacked most regions in Ukraine, the other one is the increase in export of dairy products, mainly cheese, to Russia.

The average price of milk in October 2010 is UAH 3.80 per kilogram for agricultural enterprises and UAH 2.95 per liter for private household owners.
