Maximal milk price exceeds minimal milk price by UAH 2,000
In Ukraine, average milk prices are lower than in EU, but still higher than in the US. At the same time, the difference between minimal and maximal prices is one of the biggest, and accounts for more than UAH 2,000 per ton.
In December 2009, the average milk prices per 1 ton of milk was 6.5 % lower than in most countries in Western Europe and 1.7 % higher than in the US.
If we compare minimal and maximal milk prices in Ukraine, the USA and Europe, in Ukraine the difference between them is the biggest – minimal milk price being UAH 2,000/t and maximal milk price being UAH 4,100/t . In European Union, minimal milk price is UAH 2,679/t and maximal UAH 3,321/t, in the USA – UAH 2,792/t and UAH 2,896/t.
Accordingly, the difference between maximal and minimal milk prices in Ukraine is UAH 2,100/t, in EU – UAH 643/t and in the USA - UAH 104/t.
