Map of a quality milk in Ukraine

Within the framework of the project of Ukrainian Food Export Board (UFEB) and FAO/EBRD “Ukraine: advance of agribusiness association potential in development of export markets” analytical department of Association of Milk Producers (AMP) has created a map of quality milk in Ukraine.

Map is available on the web-site MilkUa.Info on the home page, and in section ”Prices and Analitics”.

With the help of this resource all users have an opportunity to view the main centers of Extra Grade production and processing by selecting "Production" or "Processing" option.

Placing the cursor on the area of certain region you can see the numerical values indicating the amount of Extra Grade milk produced in it (thous. tonnes). The main regions of Extra Grade milk production are Kyiv region — 43 ths.t, Cherkasy region — 48,6 ths.t and Chernigiv region — 48 ths. t.

If there is “0” on the region, it means that Extra Grade milk is not produced here or the information of its possible production is confidential.

By "clicking" on a certain region we see a brief information of its industrial dairy cattle: the total herd size, including cows (thous. heads), the average milk yield per cow per year, the number of industrial milk produced and, in particular, the amount of Extra Grade milk (thousand. t).

Also users can see the total amount of Extra Grade milk processed in all regions on the map.

By "clicking" certain region, we see the total amount of milk processed (thous. tonnes) and quality gradation: Extra Grade, Higher Grade, Grade I and other. Also you can see the amount of milk products.

“The information on the map will be updated annually. The main purpose is to show which regions of Ukraine produce qualitative milk, and where it is processed. Analysts note the shortage of Extra Grade raw milk. According to information in 2016 total production of Extra Grade was 366 thousand t. Now we have a unique opportunity to see the data from across Ukraine gathered in one resource — Map of high quality milk in Ukraine”, — said the analyst of the Association of milk producers, Yana Muzichenko.
