In January, prices for raw milk in Ukraine did not changed as predicted. The index strengthened a little due to average indicators, which were higher than in December, according to experts of "INFAGRO".

The reducing of prices in February is connected with the seasonal increase of milk production on the farm households and also with the worsening of export price conjuncture at the beginning of the year (this is confirmed by the descending dynamics of the Index of exchange-traded dairy products).

The actual indicator of the index of raw milk INFAGRO in January made 224 points (preliminary forecast was equal to 223 points), that is 1 point (0.5%) higher than in December. The forecast indicator of the index for February is calculated at 221 points that is 3 points (1.3%) below than in January and 37 points (20.1%) higher than in February last year.

According to the actual figures for January, the index of exchange-traded dairy products INFAGRO made 214 points (preliminary forecast was equal to 218 points), 1 point (0.5%) higher than in December. The forecast indicator of the index for February is 216 points that is 2 points (0.9%) higher than in January and 37 points (20.7%) higher than in February last year.

The index of raw milk INFAGRO is displayed as the average cost of a kilogram of milk from agricultural enterprises (without VAT) and from farms of population in accordance with the volumes of these categories received for processing. January 1, 2011 is taken for 100 points. 

The Index of exchange-traded dairy products INFAGRO is calculated as the average indicator of export prices for the actual export sales in three main products: skimmed milk powder, butter, cheese (cheese product is included in the volume along with the cheeses, but does not participate in the price). January 1, 2011 is taken for 100 points.
