EU opened its markets for Ukrainian commodities
Since April 23, the European Union opens its markets for Ukrainian commodities in sole discretion within frames of the autonomous preferential trade regime between Ukraine and the EU.
The corresponding regulation No 374/2014 of the European Parliament was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on April 22. The regulation shall enter into force on the day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the EU.
Preferential arrangements provide reduction or elimination of the customs duties on the commodities originating from Ukraine, and setting of the import quotas for such supplies.
Since introduction of the autonomous preferential trade regime, the rates of import duties to the EU are set at the level which should act in the first year after establishment of the free trade zone within the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The regime will operate until November 1, 2014, or until signing of the economic part of the Association Agreement.
