Milk prices monitoring. July

In the second half of July, the price for raw milk continued to grow at a rather high pace. Extra Grade added 0.38 UAH and now costs in average 9.87 UAH/kg. This increases the gap between the Extra Grade and lower grades.

This is reported by Volodymyr Andriyets, an analyst of the Association of Milk Producers.

At present, the difference Extra-Higher is 0.75 UAH and is the largest in the current year, also 0.25 UAH higher than in July 2018, which indicates an increase in the demand for quality milk.

The price for Higher Grade grew by 0.19 UAH and set at 9.12 UAH/kg. Grade I went up by 0.16 UAH and has grown to an average of 8.87 UAH/kg. The difference between Higher and Grade I is currently stable and makes 0.25 UAH, while in July last year it reached 0.45 UAH. Changes in the price range between grades are gaining new shape and this trend will be further strengthened in connection with the new requirements for the hygiene of milk and dairy products.

The average milk price in July was 9.17 UAH/kg, which is 0.69 UAH higher (+8.1%) than in July 2018.
