Ukrainians cut their consumer spendings

 

During the time of the coronavirus pandemic and quarantine restrictions in Ukraine, in the second quarter of 2020 households spent about UAH 649.3 billion, which is 10.4% less than in the same period in 2019.

The State Statistics Service announced this in its express release on September 21.

In the second quarter, most of all Ukrainians spent on food and non-alcoholic drinks — UAH 278,684 million (42.9% of all expenses, down -7.5).

The second largest item of expenditure was housing, water, electricity, gas and other types of fuel — 90.617 million (13.9%, an increase of +6.4).

Transport with its 50 493 million (7.8%, a fall -27.8) wasalso in top-3.

Ukrainians spent UAH 48,970 million on alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and drugs (7.5%, down -11.1).

UAH 40,793 million was spent on healthcare (6.3%, a drop of -2.5).

Clothing and footwear cost Ukrainians UAH 27,639 million (4.3%, drop -19.2).
