Ukraine: Purchase of milk from population will continue

Earlier, Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman said about the inadmissibility of prohibition for population to sell milk to companies producing dairy products.

The purchase of milk from the farms will continue, as there are no restrictions on this issue and they are not expected, reported Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Maxim Martyniuk.

«I would like to announce officially, on behalf of the Ministry of agrarian policy and the Ukrainian government that there are no restrictions on the purchase of milk from the population and there are no plans for implementation. Milk from the population will be purchased as it used to be», — said the Deputy Minister. Martyniuk added that the legislative changes on the issue of procurement of milk from the population are not planned to be implemented.

«No commitments of Ukraine to the European Union in the framework of the implementation of the Association Agreement or the Agreement on free trade zone do not imply any changes in this situation», — he stressed. Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman said about the inadmissibility of prohibition for population to sell milk to companies producing dairy products. «There was a signal regarding the prohibition of selling milk from people to manufacturers. I want to warn you, no one should forbid anything to anyone. Let people raise cattle, sell milk quietly and let nobody bothers them to do it,» he said.

«I warn: there shouldn’t be any prohibitions. We need to help people in this difficult moment. No restrictions,»he added. At the end of 2017 in the media there appeared information about the ban on the purchase of products from the villagers by processing enterprises since January 1, 2018.
