The government has approved agrarian support programs in 2018
On February 7 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved agricultural sector support programs for key areas within the framework of the State Budget on 2018. Total among of support will be 6,3 million hryvnias agaist 5,5 billion hryvnias last year. «Today we are launching an unprecedented state support for the agro-industrial complex. Priorities — development of livestock, farmers and cooperative movement, support for gardening and production of Ukrainian agricultural machinery»,-stated the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman. Main efforts are concentrated on industries that can provide long-term economic effect.
Also, provided:
- compensation 25% of the cost of acquiring new agricultural machinery and equipment of Ukrainian production.
- compensation of the loan involved in the construction of livestock complexes, which forms an effective rate at the level of 3%, the reimbursement of the cost of commissioned livestock complexes constructed at the investor's own expense, as well as a reduction in price for up to 3% of loans for projects implemented in the field of aquaculture, sheep breeding, gooseberries, etc.
- reducing the cost of maintenance cattle in agrarian enterprise at a rate 1 500 UAH/head/year.
- reducing the cost of keeping young animals (up to 1 year), which kept in households at a rate 2, 5 UAH/head in year.
- reducing by 80% the cost of planting material in gardening and berries gardening.
- small and medium farms provide for the reimbursement 100% of the cost of purchased Ukrainian seed, 90% of the cost of advisory services. Also, this category of agricultural producers will have access to cheap credit resources, and also enjoy an additional preferential when purchasing Ukrainian agricultural machinery — they will be compensated for 40% of its value.
- within the framework of the support and development of agricultural service cooperatives, the state will co-finance projects implemented by the SOC in animal husbandry, horticulture, construction of vegetable and fruit storage, 70% of the cost of purchasing new equipment for them.
«Our task is to put an end to the negative trends in the now-existing industries and to lay an effective foundation for the growth of the entire agroindustrial complex. The resources which provided to support livestock farming, in particular, will have an effect also outside this industry, since the restoration of farms and the increase of the stock will allow keeping prices the domestic market and create new work places in the countryside», — denoted First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Maxim Martynyuk. He said that as a result of the implementation of state support programs, the Government seeks to establish the status of a farmer as the main player in the Ukrainian agricultural sector and to increase the share that is currently generated by farms in agricultural GDP from the current 6% to at least 10%.
